Nikki Loney

Inspired by the youngest singers in her studio, Nikki Loney encourages teachers to rethink what a singing lesson can be for a child.  With over 30 years of teaching experience in private and small-group settings—both online and in person—Nikki has built a studio that celebrates beginners of all abilities. She has presented her child-centered vocal pedagogy to organizations and colleagues worldwide, sharing strategies that support confidence, curiosity, and joyful learning. My training and background as a singer was old-school and "traditional" in the Western Classical music vein, which didn't prepare me at all for teaching young singers. I'd never planned to teach kids, but--surprise!--families with kids started coming to me for lessons, and I felt like I had no idea what I was doing.
